We wanted a holiday focused on scenery, with enough time to enjoy each place. Before the trip, the team asked about our interests and hotel preferences, which made planning straightforward. Our hotel suited our needs, and it was helpful to have the bookings organised together. Jiuzhaigou’s clear water and waterfalls were wonderful, although we were quite tired by the afternoon. I was glad we had allowed some breathing room in our schedule. My favourite moments were simply stopping by the water and enjoying the view.

My partner and I were most impressed by the colours of the lakes. We had seen plenty of photographs beforehand, but watching the water change with the light was something else. We liked having time to stop instead of taking a quick photo and moving straight on. Some viewpoints were busy, so a little patience helped. Comfortable shoes were definitely useful because we walked more than expected. Jiuzhaigou was a memorable part of our Sichuan trip, and I would happily return in a different season.

We travelled as a family and appreciated the nine-seater vehicle arranged for our trip. The seats were comfortable, and we had enough space without feeling squeezed together. Our driver drove steadily and gave us time for a rest stop when we needed one. After a long day walking around Jiuzhaigou, the comfortable ride back to our hotel was very welcome. The scenery was the main reason we came, but the transport arrangements made a real difference to how relaxed we felt throughout the trip.

Jiuzhaigou was the highlight of our family holiday, but our guide deserves a special mention. Her English was clear, and she patiently answered our questions without making us feel rushed. She explained the day’s route, helped us find our way between stops and gave us time to take photos. When my parents needed a break, she adjusted the pace. There was still plenty of walking, but having someone attentive with us made the day much easier. We especially enjoyed the quiet moments beside the lakes.
